Thank you for your input to date on THE DAEDALUS PROJECT. All comments are very much appreciated.

Thanks,

  1. Science is generally not my thing, but the synopsis drew me in. Now I am intrigued! (Hope it's not too 'Planet of the Apes' -ish). ;-)

  2. I like this opening chapter. It has a good pace for a mystery yet it has some provocative scientific backround issues being played out.I look forward to seeing the rest of the novel.

  4. What a thrilling first chapter! I'd love to read the rest of it. It is exciting and at the same time promises to be intellectually satisfying. Publish the book!

  5. Reads like a best seller! How can I get a copy of entire manuscript?

  6. More! I want more!

Great concept. Even if it wasn't well written, I'd probably slog through just to find out what happened, but the writing is excellent! Good dialogue, good pace, no contrived-feeling literary bits like you so often find in first novels.

My only complaint is that I'll have to wait until it's published to read the rest.

  7. I'm a reader with fairly eclectic tastes so the SciFi label didn't cause any hesitation here. The piece posted is rather too short for any real critiquing but, having said that, I believe publishing houses read the first page only to get a feel of contributed works then continue if it shows promise. My opinion is yours shows promise. I should also add that I admire the simplicity of your language. Best wishes.

  9. I thought this a good opening, concise use of language to draw your reader in and an interesting promise of some deadly struggle to come. Gene manipulation is very topical in scientific thrillers so your work looks promising.

  11. I quite enjoyed the conversation between Max and Toby, the way it eludes to something massive, something almost beyond imagination, something dangerous. It intrigued me and compelled me to want to read more.
Personally I found the opening scenes with Cassandra demonstrating her ability a bit too 'in your face' and obvious.

I really liked it. Hope you have managed to keep the tension and momentum going.

    Well done :)
    Cheers
    Trey

  12. The writing in these two chapters is easily read, not ponderous, and moves along well, both of us liked the topic and sense of intrigue.

  14. I found the pace of both chapters interesting, the base for what comes next has been put in place, the hooks of how and why and where are also in place. I am not normally a reader of science fiction however I could be tempted to read the rest of the book.

  15. It was interesting, however, I am more of a politics mystery, who-done-it, so. It was well written and I could see how syfy fans would really like it.

  16. It's an interesting story by a bit too medically technical for me.

  17. I'm hooked! Written simply and clearly. The author has shown a good ability to get the readers attention with a mystery that leaves them wanting to know more.

  18. I'm a sci fi/fantasy fiction fan. Some of my favorite authors are Elizabeth Moon, Anne McCaffrey and Orson Scott Card. I enjoyed what was there to read of your book and would have kept reading if there was more. Best wishes and keep writing.
